Author Guidelines
LawSains Journal publishes scholarly articles in the fields of Law, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Education using the IMRaD structure (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion). Submissions must follow the following guidelines:
1. Manuscript Types Accepted
Original Research Articles: Based on field data, legal documents, or jurisprudence.
Systematic Literature Reviews (SLR): Using PRISMA methodology or equivalent, combined with comparative or empirical data if relevant.
Conceptual Papers: Theoretical analysis with strong academic foundation, ideally supported by precedent studies or empirical context.
2. Manuscript Structure (IMRaD)
All submitted manuscripts must be arranged using the IMRaD structure:
- Title (English and Bahasa Indonesia)
Concise and specific (max. 15 words)
Avoid abbreviations and jargon
- Abstract
200–250 words
English and Bahasa Indonesia versions required
Must contain: background, aim, method, results, conclusion, and keywords (4–6 words)
- Introduction
Background and significance
Problem formulation and research gap
Objectives and contributions
- Methods
Explain research approach (normative, empirical, or mixed)
Describe data sources (e.g., laws, jurisprudence, interviews, field data)
For SLR: detail databases used, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and protocol (e.g., PRISMA)
For empirical studies: clarify population, sampling, instruments, and validity
- Results
Present findings clearly, using subheadings if needed
Include tables, figures, and/or legal excerpts as appropriate
For SLR: provide synthesis and mapping of literature
- Discussion
Interpret results in light of previous research or theoretical frameworks
Link findings with legal implications, policy, or societal impact
Highlight limitations and future research directions
- Conclusion
Summarize key findings
Provide recommendations (practical or theoretical)
- References
Use APA 7th Edition
At least 20 scholarly references, with 30% from the last 5 years
Prioritize journal articles and books; minimize use of blogs, Wikipedia, etc.
3. Formatting Requirements
Length: 5,000–8,000 words (excluding references and appendices)
Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt
Spacing: 1.5
Margins: 3 cm (top, bottom, left, right)
File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
4. Plagiarism Policy
Submitted manuscripts must have a similarity index of <20% (Turnitin or equivalent). Plagiarized content will be rejected immediately.
5. Peer Review Process
All submissions are double-blind peer-reviewed
Authors may be asked to revise their manuscript based on reviewer feedback within 14 days
6. Submission Checklist
Before submission, authors must ensure that:
The manuscript follows IMRaD structure
The abstract is in two languages
All references follow APA 7
Tables/figures are numbered and captioned
The article is not under review or published elsewhere
